The next few weeks...

Summer is coming to a close, and we're readying ourselves to drop off the radar until our new record is done. We've got a few shows left - make sure you catch one of them as we likely won't be playing again until the roads are nice and icy...

Upcoming Shows:
  • Friday 9/4 - Howler's Coyote Cafe (Pittsburgh, PA) - with Savoir Adore, Ennui, and DJ Ed Um
  • Saturday 9/5 - Piano's (New York, NY) - with Proud Simon, Beau Jennings, and Noxious Foxes
  • Friday 9/18 - Belvedere's (Pittsburgh, PA) - with Boca Chica and Nik Westman & The Central Plains

In studio news, we're adding some new toys to our arsenal this week including a Hammond RT-3 organ (the same organ used in Studio 2 at Abbey Road!), a piano, a Soundcraft 400b 24 channel console, and a matched pair of Cascade Fathead ribbon mics...

In financial news, we're destitute.

Again - make sure you snag a copy of our debut EP, Broken Record, for free (considering how broke we are, this feels foolish....) right here: http://mariageblanc.bandcamp.com/

The best things in life...

We're currently gearing up to record our first LP, but in the meantime we've put our debut EP - Broken Record - up for free download. It's available in just about any digital format you could imagine, so even if you've already snagged the EP on iTunes, head over and grab a lossless copy.

And here we are

After much drywalling, joint-compounding, sanding, sweeping, mopping and painting - we've arrived at the (almost) finished studio. Sorry about the complete lack of "in progress" photos. Just close your eyes and picture a handful of underqualified people, drinking beers, listening to Warren G and Van Halen based Pandora stations, while drywalling over perfectly functional doors.

the studio: what it was

Let's play catch up...

April 2009.

Faced with the prospect of renting a finished, secure, and heated practice space - Mariage Blanc decides instead to rent a dilapidated storage space above an abandoned bar in a questionable neighborhood and build a recording studio inside it. A construction task of this magnitude could prove impossible for other bands. Thankfully, Mariage Blanc is used to taking on challenges they are not qualified for.

Note: Moving 1200 lbs of drywall with a 2000 Subaru Outback and a small, U-Haul trailer is neither safe nor recommended.
